The ICU portion of the Cheerleading and Dance World Championship […]
Hey Everyone. Thanks for visiting. Everyday I wake up in search of courage and a way to position myself for progress. I have been blessed to move from the projects of Oakland, CA to becoming a leader of one of the largest companies in the world. On this journey, I’ve been met with opportunities to create impact in ways I’d never imagine. From becoming the first out gay law enforcement officer in a few law enforcement agencies, to authoring anti bullying laws and demanding policy changes related to alternate justice programs to reduce the school to prison pipeline in minority communities. While these efforts have not been without challenge or consequence. The James Baldwin’s quote: “Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced” resignates with me and has not yet let me down.
I have been blessed to travel the world coaching, choreographing and judging cheerleading focusing on underrepresented emerging international communities and disadvantaged communities here in the United States. I choose to focus on the communities others generally ignore.
This site will briefly cover my history growing up in a single family household from the projects to where I am now, the successes and more importantly the failures which taught me more that any success ever has. The site will briefly cover my professional life from law enforcement, to DHS, to the private sector. No, not everything is serious, I will also chronicle my journey as a cheerleader, a gym owner, a coach and judge. Lastly, I will share with you some of my photos as I begin my journey as a photographer.
